Former Australian of the Year Grace Tame made headlines during a morning tea with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese by wearing a provocative t-shirt emblazoned with “F–-k Murdoch.” The event, held at The Lodge in Canberra for the 2025 Australian of the Year finalists, saw Tame greet Albanese and his fiancée, Jodie Haydon, who showed no visible reaction to her statement.

This bold move is not out of character for Tame, who previously made waves when she was photographed giving a pointed look to former Prime Minister Scott Morrison at a similar event in 2022. Tame, who won the Australian of the Year award in 2021, is known for her advocacy for survivors of sexual assault and her efforts to repeal Tasmania’s restrictive gag laws.

Through her attire and actions, Tame continues to use public platforms to voice her opinions and highlight crucial issues, maintaining her reputation as a prominent figure in Australian advocacy.
