Applications for the forthcoming round of Victoria’s Power Saving Bonus will commence on August 25. Approximately 900,000 households in Victoria that hold a concession card will be eligible to receive a $100 reduction on their energy bills.

Eligible residents can apply for this discount through the Victorian Energy Compare (VEC) website or visit a local Neighbourhood House for assistance. To complete the application process, applicants will need to present a recent electricity bill.

Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting locals with rising energy costs, stating, “We know that we need to do more to help Victorians deal with energy costs. This will take $100 off that bill and keep that $100 in your pocket and not out the door to an energy company.”

Concession card holders who qualify include those with health care, pension concession, veterans’ affairs pensioner concession, or a veterans’ affairs gold card. This initiative aims to alleviate some financial burden for eligible households as they manage their energy expenses.
