In a concerning incident in Townsville, police have shot a man who was wanted by authorities. The event unfolded shortly after 3.15pm on Carthew Street in Thuringowa Central when officers responded to reports regarding the suspect, a man in his twenties. Upon arrival, law enforcement officials stated that one of the officers discharged their weapon, injuring the man.
He was promptly given first aid at the scene before being transported to Townsville University Hospital for further medical attention. Law enforcement has assured the public there is no ongoing threat related to this situation and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
