A 23-year-old woman has been charged after allegedly driving her Rolls Royce head-on into a Mercedes while intoxicated in the early hours of the morning. The incident occurred in Rose Bay, an affluent suburb of Sydney, around 3:30 am.
The 52-year-old male driver of the Mercedes became trapped in his vehicle, prompting emergency services to extricate him. He received medical attention at the scene and was subsequently transported to St Vincent’s Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Fortunately, the female driver did not sustain any injuries; however, she was accused of being under the influence of alcohol. Following the crash, she was arrested and taken to Waverly Police Station, where she reportedly failed a breath test and then refused to undergo further breath analysis.
The charges against her include causing bodily harm through misconduct while in charge of a motor vehicle and refusing to submit to a breath test. She has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in the Downing Centre Local Court on August 15.
