Emergency services responded to a high-rise apartment building named Penny Place, located near the Federal Court in Adelaide’s city centre, shortly before 9pm last night after receiving reports of significant water flooding through various floors. It was discovered that water had been pouring down from the 24th floor, resulting in considerable damage throughout the building.
Upon arrival, police found that multiple fire hydrants had been intentionally activated, leading to the flooding issue. Authorities are treating this incident as a deliberate act. The Metropolitan Fire Service, along with the State Emergency Service (SES), commenced cleanup efforts at the scene.
An investigation into the matter is currently underway, and the police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact either the police or CrimeStoppers at 1800 333 000.
