A backpacker, known as Wilga, has been released from Fiona Stanley Hospital and is currently staying with friends. She is reportedly scheduled to fly back to Germany shortly. Wilga was admitted to the hospital on Friday night after being rescued from the Australian outback, where she faced severe dehydration, exhaustion, sunburn, and mosquito bites during her nearly three-week ordeal.
During her time lost, she experienced a significant weight loss of 12 kilograms while navigating the bush alone. The troubles began when she crashed her van in Karroun Hill Reserve, located in a remote part of the wheatbelt region. Her vehicle remains stuck in the area, and Wilga will need to coordinate with local authorities for its recovery.
