A member of the Rebels bikie gang has been charged following the discovery of a disturbing video on his phone, which allegedly shows a caged cat being shot at point-blank range. The incident occurred on June 28 when Raptor Squad officers stopped a 29-year-old man driving a stolen Hino 300 truck in Villawood, a suburb of Western Sydney. During a search of the vehicle, officers uncovered balaclavas, bolt cutters, and gloves.
After seizing the man’s phone, he was released while investigations continued. Forensic analysis of the device later revealed evidence of firearm use, including the graphic footage of the cat being killed. Subsequent to these findings, police conducted a raid on July 2 at a home in Rosemeadow, where they seized a rifle butt, a taser, approximately $18,400 in cash, 170 vials of human growth hormones, and a vest associated with the Rebels.
The man was arrested during the raid and taken to Campbelltown Police Station. He faced charges for driving a stolen vehicle, possession of prohibited weapons without a permit, and possession of restricted substances. Initially granted conditional bail on July 3 after appearing in Parramatta Local Court, the man was subjected to ongoing investigations.
He was later rearrested at the Rosemeadow property and taken back to Campbelltown Police Station, where he received additional charges for using an unauthorised firearm, recklessly firing a weapon, as well as for the torturous act against the animal. The man has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in Campbelltown Local Court today as the investigation unfolds.
