Two Prisoners and Three Visitors Charged Following Altercation at NSW Jail

Five individuals have been charged following a violent altercation at Bathurst Correctional Centre in New South Wales that occurred on February 8.

At approximately 9.30 am, prison officers responded to reports of a brawl involving two male inmates and three visitors. All five participants were apprehended on-site and subsequently charged with various offences.

Among the accused, a 32-year-old woman and two women aged 32 and 28 face charges of affray, while the older woman is additionally charged with common assault. The two male inmates, aged 29 and 36, have also been charged with affray.

All five individuals have appeared in court, with four expected to return to Bathurst Local Court for a follow-up hearing tomorrow. The 32-year-old woman is scheduled for a court appearance on August 20.
