Two teenagers have been charged following a police chase in western Sydney. The incident began around 5:25 pm yesterday when police tried to pull over a suspected stolen Volkswagen Tiguan on Valeria Street in Toongabbie. However, the driver failed to stop, prompting a pursuit that led through several suburbs, including Blacktown, Kings Park, and Doonside.
The car eventually came to a halt on Doonside Crescent, where three occupants exited the vehicle. Police apprehended a 14-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy nearby. The older teenager faces numerous charges, including robbery in company, three counts of being carried in a conveyance taken without consent, and two counts of aggravated break and enter, linked to serious indictable offences that occurred last month in areas such as Blacktown, Wentworthville, Seven Hills, and North Parramatta.
He is also charged with specially aggravated break and enter, alongside charges of attempting to commit a serious indictable offence with intent to steal items valued at $60,000 or less. The 17-year-old has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in a children’s court today.
The younger boy, on the other hand, has been charged with being carried in a conveyance taken without consent. He has been granted strict conditional bail, with his court appearance set for August.
