A 44-year-old man from Sydney has been charged with multiple serious offences, including choking and sexually assaulting two women he met through dating apps. Authorities formed a strike force earlier this year to investigate allegations that he had assaulted a 35-year-old woman between 2021 and 2023 in the Burwood area.
During the probe, police identified a second alleged victim, a 52-year-old woman, who reportedly experienced similar violence at his hands last year. The accused was apprehended yesterday during a police operation at a residence on Sibbick Street, Russell Lea.
He now faces 15 charges related to domestic violence, which include eight counts of sexual intercourse without consent and two counts of stalking or intimidation. Additional charges include recording intimate images without consent and unlawfully detaining a person for personal advantage.
Following his arrest, the man was taken to Burwood Police Station, where he was refused bail. He is scheduled to appear at Parramatta Local Court today, as investigations continue.
