Manly Sea Eagles captain Daly Cherry-Evans found humour in a cheeky F-bomb he dropped during a halftime interview with Fox League. The conversation took place after a tense first half of their match against the Wests Tigers, where the Sea Eagles managed to edge ahead with a late try, finishing the half at 6-0.

When asked about his feelings towards the close contest, Cherry-Evans dismissed any frustration, expressing satisfaction with his team’s effort. He acknowledged the hard work put forth by both teams: “I haven’t felt frustrated, to be honest with you. We’ve had to work really hard, and the Tigers team showed up.”

Cherry-Evans highlighted the need for his team to continue their momentum in the second half, emphasising that if they executed their game plan effectively, they could reap the rewards. The conversation took a light-hearted turn as he described their strategy: “Continue to put the ball down this corner. Eventually, we’re going to get some classy tries. So, we’ve just got to f—oh, we’ve just got to back ourselves,” he stated with a grin, correcting himself after the slip.

Fox’s Yvonne Sampson found the moment amusing, reacting to his blunder with a laugh: “Goodness me, a little slip-up there from DCE.”

In the first half, the Tigers failed to score, while Sea Eagles winger Jason Saab scored the only try just before the halftime buzzer, following a pass from Tom Trbojevic. Reuben Garrick successfully converted the try, giving Manly a slight edge going into the second half.
