The widow of a Melbourne man, Zivan Radmanovic, who was tragically shot while holidaying in Bali earlier this month, has released a poignant handwritten statement describing him as “the best dad in the world”. Her family’s legal representative indicated that she is receiving counselling and is struggling to cope with the shock of the incident.
According to the lawyer, Sary Latief, Radmanovic’s wife, who was in their villa during the attack, is experiencing significant distress. She has lost her appetite, is noticeably pale, and is deeply troubled, expressing a desire to return home. The vacation, which was meant to celebrate her 30th birthday, has been overshadowed by the tragedy.
Latief shared insights into the evening leading up to the shooting, stating the couple had been out for dinner and returned home shortly before 11pm. They were settling in for the night when the incident occurred, with the wife only catching a fleeting glimpse of a suspect. An autopsy revealed that Radmanovic died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
In her statement to the media, the grieving wife extended her gratitude to Indonesian authorities and requested privacy during this painful time. She described her husband as a loving individual and expressed the unimaginable difficulty she now faces in telling their children about their father’s death.
In a related note, Radmanovic’s friend, Sanar Ghanim, also suffered injuries in the attack.
