Police are investigating a deadly stabbing that occurred in Belmore, Sydney’s south-west on March 15. Around 9pm, emergency services were alerted to a residence on Lakemba Street, where they discovered a man who was unresponsive. Another individual was present, attempting to render first aid.
The victim was identified as 34-year-old James Pakis, who tragically succumbed to multiple stab wounds at the scene. A second man, aged 24, was transported to hospital for treatment but has since been released. Following the incident, a 21-year-old man was arrested two days later, on March 17. He has been charged with murder and is currently awaiting court proceedings.
In an effort to gather more information about the case, authorities have released CCTV footage showing an individual clad in black, carrying a blue bag. This person was seen being picked up by a car, described as a black Honda Jazz with damage to the rear windscreen. Police are keen to locate this vehicle and speak to its occupants, as they may possess vital information related to the stabbing.
