Firefighters are currently managing a significant blaze at an industrial site in Marrickville, Sydney’s inner west. The fire broke out around 3:15 AM on Cook Street, engulfing three two-storey industrial units. By 6 AM, 16 fire trucks and approximately 50 firefighters were on the scene combating the flames.

Initial efforts to enter the building were halted due to the rapid spread of the fire. Aerial units deployed hoses to contain the flames within the site, successfully preventing any damage to neighbouring properties. Fortunately, there were no reports of individuals present inside the building, as tenants confirmed that their staff were not on site at the time of the incident.

No injuries have been reported among firefighters or the public. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and Cook Street remains closed off to traffic. Sydenham Road is partially accessible, with motorists advised to exercise caution in the area.
