A five-month-old baby was hospitalised following a disturbing incident on the Sunshine Coast where two e-scooter riders discharged a fire extinguisher into a moving car. The event occurred around 7:50 PM on a Sunday evening as a Silver Suzuki Vitara was travelling along High Street in Sippy Downs. The unidentified riders approached the vehicle and unleashed the contents of a fire extinguisher before fleeing the scene.
Both the 29-year-old driver of the car and the infant girl sustained minor injuries. The child’s mother later shared that her daughter required medical attention to have her eyes flushed with saline due to the incident.
Authorities later located the fire extinguisher believed to have been used in the attack on nearby Stringybark Road. Investigators are now reaching out to local residents and businesses for assistance, seeking any information, CCTV footage, or dashcam recordings from the area between 7:30 PM and 8:20 PM on that day. They encourage anyone with details to come forward and aid in their inquiries.
