Three Detained Following Shooting in Sydney’s South West, Vehicle Set Ablaze

Police responded to reports of a shooting at a residence on Earl Street in Merrylands around 9:20 am. Fortunately, no one was at home at the time, and there were no injuries reported.

Shortly after the incident, authorities discovered a burnt-out Porsche in Beverly Crescent, Chester Hill. According to police, three individuals had left Chester Hill in a Hyundai. They were later apprehended while attempting to evade capture on foot on McMahon Road in Yagoona. At this stage, they have been taken into custody, but no formal charges have been made against them yet.

Crime scenes were established at both the shooting location and the site of the vehicle fire. The investigation is being led by Taskforce Falcon, a unit designated to address violent crime in Sydney.
