Two individuals were tragically shot and killed late Sunday night on the Las Vegas Strip, near the renowned Bellagio fountains. Authorities have described the incident as an “isolated event” involving parties who were familiar with one another.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz, turned himself in to police at a station in Henderson on Monday. He is expected to face two counts of murder with a deadly weapon. As of now, details regarding legal representation for Ruiz are unclear, with the Clark County Public Defender’s Office stating that no public defender has yet been appointed.

According to Undersheriff Andrew Walsh, the confrontation appears to have stemmed from a feud that had previously played out on social media between the suspect and the victims. Officers nearby reported hearing gunshots and subsequently discovered the two victims lying on the pavement, both of whom were pronounced dead at the scene.

It is worth noting that this shooting occurred along one of the busiest sections of the Strip, a prominent area frequented by tourists, right in front of the iconic Bellagio fountains which are known for their captivating water displays that reach heights of up to 140 metres during performances held every 15 minutes on weekends between 8pm and midnight. The victims have not yet been publicly identified by the police.
