West Coast Eagles player Tyrell Dewar faces potential repercussions following a high tackle on North Melbourne’s Zac Fisher during the first quarter of their recent match. Fisher attempted a difficult banana kick from the boundary and was contacted by Dewar as he executed the kick, resulting in a free kick awarded to Fisher. Although Fisher’s first attempt registered a behind, he repeated his effort unsuccessfully.

Commentator Nick Dal Santo remarked on the incident, describing Dewar’s action as somewhat clumsy, particularly as it resulted in contact to the head.

By the end of the first quarter, North Melbourne held a 15-point advantage, while West Coast struggled offensively, marking five behinds without any goals. The Eagles finally broke through in the second quarter, with Jack Williams scoring their first goal at the 20-minute mark after 34 entries inside their attacking 50. However, the half concluded with North leading 3.3 (21) to West Coast’s 1.8 (14).

West Coast made a significant comeback midway through the third quarter, seizing the lead with a goal from Elijah Hewett. Heading into the last break, the Eagles were ahead by 11 points, but North Melbourne dealt with setbacks as well, losing Charlie Comben to a shoulder injury due to a collision in a marking contest.

In a disappointing final quarter, West Coast failed to score a single goal. North Melbourne capitalised on this, with Cameron Zurhaar clinching the winning goal with two minutes left in the game, followed by a goal from Jy Simpkin to seal the victory. The match concluded with a score of 9.8 (62) to 6.16 (52), despite West Coast registering a whopping 63 inside 50 entries compared to North’s 41. Paul Curtis stood out among the goal scorers for North with three goals to his name.
