A teenage boy is set to appear in court following a serious incident in Sydney’s south-west, where a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. The event took place around 10.50pm at the intersection of Nelson and Sackville Streets in Fairfield. Emergency services arrived at the scene to find a 66-year-old man suffering from significant injuries caused by the collision with the car, which also impacted a parked vehicle.

Paramedics provided immediate care and subsequently transported the man to hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition. Shortly after the incident, authorities located two 16-year-olds on Nelson Street, who are alleged to have been involved as the driver and passenger in the car that struck the pedestrian.

The teenager identified as the driver has since been arrested and charged with several offences, including causing bodily harm, negligent driving, and failing to stop and assist following an accident. He has been granted conditional bail and is scheduled to appear in a children’s court on Monday, August 4.
