Emergency services responded to an incident at Blue Fish Point in Manly around 7.40am. Reports indicated that a 33-year-old man had fallen from the cliffs into the water while fishing with a group.
In response, police launched a comprehensive search operation, deploying divers, the Toll Ambulance rescue helicopter, and team members from Marine Rescue Australia NSW and Surf Life Saving Australia. Tragically, by approximately 10.30am, authorities retrieved a body from the water in the vicinity.
It is believed that the recovered body belongs to the missing fisherman. An official report will be compiled for the coroner to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
