Detectives investigating the case of a missing Victorian man, Joshua Bishop, have indicated that his disappearance could be suspicious. The 23-year-old was last observed at his home in Lalor Crescent, Sunbury, around 9:30 PM on Tuesday, 27 May, by his housemate. He was reported missing by his mother on Thursday, 29 May.
Recent updates suggest that Bishop’s mobile phone was last active at a park in Broadmeadows on the same day he went missing, but neither his phone nor bank accounts have shown any activity since then. Despite extensive searches of the park using drones and a dog squad, no signs of him have been found.
Additionally, Bishop’s white Toyota Corolla was discovered abandoned on Ridley Street in Albion earlier this week. There are claims from acquaintances that the vehicle was stolen, but this information was not reported to police.
While Bishop has no prior history with law enforcement and has never been missing before, investigators have not dismissed the possibility of his involvement in criminal activities or the potential for foul play in his disappearance. Acting Detective Sergeant Matthew Wilson-Hawe expressed growing concerns for Bishop’s welfare, stating, “We simply don’t know what has happened to him… his disappearance is incredibly out of character.”
With every passing day without contact, authorities believe there is an increasing chance that his disappearance might not be straightforward. Bishop is described as Caucasian, of average build, with short blonde hair and blue eyes. At the time he was last seen, he was wearing a black singlet and tracksuit pants.
