A 15-year-old boy became the seventh individual detained by law enforcement as part of an organised crime taskforce operation that launched across Sydney earlier this week. Known as Taskforce Falcon, detectives apprehended the teenager in Ashfield following the interception of a stolen Toyota Hilux the day before.

The police were patrolling Lidcombe around 11:30 pm when they stopped the Hilux, reportedly discovering fuel cans inside the vehicle. During this operation, three other individuals were also taken into custody, one of whom was just 14 years old. The arrested teenager was subsequently taken to Burwood Police Station, where charges are anticipated.

Superintendent Jason Box expressed confidence that those arrested were linked to organised crime, suggesting they had been recruited for such activities. His remarks came after police raided a property in Austral, where they seized gel blasters concealed as firearms and three stolen vehicles. Box indicated that the vehicles were allegedly stored at that site to facilitate future criminal endeavours.

In tandem with the Austral raid, Falcon operatives conducted a similar operation in Berala, located in Sydney’s west. Meanwhile, at Parramatta Court, rapper Aly Younis, also known as Ay Huncho, had his bail conditions modified to enhance his safety amidst concerns for his wellbeing. His legal representatives argued that his prior reporting obligations had rendered him vulnerable, thus highlighting the necessity to adjust his movements.

The police are calling upon anyone with information that could aid in investigations related to organised crime to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000 or visit their website for confidential reporting. The public is reminded not to share information via NSW Police social media channels.
