A man has been apprehended following a bomb threat at a McDonald’s in Salisbury Plain, located in northern Adelaide, on Wednesday night. The incident unfolded around 7.45pm when the individual reportedly entered the fast-food outlet and claimed that his bag contained a bomb, as stated by South Australian police.
In response to this alarming situation, Bomb Squad officers promptly arrived at the scene, evacuated the restaurant, and thoroughly examined the bag in question. Thankfully, it was determined that the bag was empty, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
The 44-year-old suspect from Parafield Gardens was arrested on-site and charged with making a false threat. He has been denied bail and is scheduled to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court later today.
