Taylor Swift has announced that she has regained ownership of her complete musical catalogue. In a heartfelt statement on her official website, she shared the news that “all of the music I’ve ever made now belongs to me.” This significant milestone comes after her acquisition of her recordings, originally released under Big Machine Records, from their latest owner, Shamrock Capital, although the purchase amount was not revealed.

In recent years, Swift has been actively re-recording her first six albums to reclaim her music rights, a move catalysed by Scooter Braun’s controversial purchase of her earlier works. Expressing gratitude to her fans, she stated, “I can’t thank you enough for helping to reunite me with this art that I have dedicated my life to, but have never owned until now. The best things that have ever been mine… finally actually are.”

The acquisition has been met with enthusiasm from Shamrock Capital, who expressed their happiness over the outcome. So far, Swift has successfully released four re-recorded albums, which began with “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and “Red (Taylor’s Version)” in 2021. Each of these re-recordings debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, showcasing their immense commercial success. The most recent release, “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” launched in October 2023, following the release of “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).”

On top of her re-recordings, Swift continues to introduce new music, including her album “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was unveiled during the 2024 Grammys amidst her highly acclaimed concert tour.

While aficionados speculate that “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” will be her next re-release, Swift indicated she has only partially completed re-recordings, having entirely re-recorded her self-titled debut album, which she is pleased with.

She concluded her note by mentioning that both her debut and “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” may be unveiled at the right moment in the future. As of now, representatives from Swift, HYBE, and Braun have not provided additional comments regarding her latest updates.
