Benji Marshall has opted not to elaborate on the future of Lachlan Galvin, as the Wests Tigers board gets ready to convene over his contract situation. In April, Galvin’s management informed the Tigers that they were neither negotiating a new contract nor seeking to extend his current one, which is set to expire in late 2026. This announcement garnered criticism, particularly after teammates expressed their support for Galvin on social media, leading to threats of legal action against the club in response to alleged bullying.

On Friday, it was reported that the Tigers’ board would meet to explore their options regarding Galvin on the following Monday. After the Tigers’ recent defeat to the Rabbitohs, Marshall was questioned about the impending meeting and offered his insights without revealing too much. He stated, “I do have thoughts, but they’re not ones I will share,” indicating that any decisions would be left to the board’s discretion.

Marshall acknowledged that the situation surrounding Galvin has ceased to be a distraction for the team. When queried if he expects the board meeting to provide clear direction, Marshall gave a cryptic response, suggesting the media would find out about the developments as they typically do, eliciting a smirk from both himself and captain Api Koroisau.

As the board prepares to address this delicate matter, the future of Galvin remains uncertain, but it is clear that the Tigers are committed to resolving the situation professionally amidst the ongoing scrutiny.
