Around 1am, emergency services responded to a call regarding an incident on Meadows Road in Mount Pritchard. Upon arrival, police discovered a silver utility vehicle, which had no registration plates, had collided with the front of a local shop. Shortly after the impact, a fire broke out at the site. Firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, though the damage to the shop was significant.

The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to police’s arrival. Residents living above the shop were evacuated as a precaution, but thankfully, no injuries were reported. Authorities are encouraging anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
