A shopping centre in Endeavour Hills, Melbourne’s south-east, became the scene of chaos when four teenage girls were arrested following an alleged theft and assault. The disturbance unfolded around 4pm yesterday, when one of the girls reportedly leapt over the counter of a tobacconist to steal cigarettes. As the incident escalated, nearby shoppers intervened, attempting to prevent the other three girls from fleeing.
During the commotion, a 55-year-old man from Drouin was allegedly struck on the head with a glass bottle, leaving him bleeding from the ear. Witness James Walker described the situation as “absolute chaos,” highlighting how the girls’ friends were throwing objects and making threats, further intensifying the scene. Another witness noted that one girl used a vodka bottle to hit the man, exacerbating the disorder.
The four girls are currently being questioned by police. Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has pertinent information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1800 333 000.
