Police have reported that a recent assault ceased when a local resident intervened, prompting the suspect to flee on foot. Authorities located the alleged assailant, a 20-year-old man from Glenvale, in Toowoomba’s CBD the following day and took him into custody. He has been charged with unlawful stalking and an attempted rape and is scheduled to appear in court today. Investigators are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact the police.
